Shirley has an extensive career in Veterinary Practice Management and is a proven leader in the industry. Shirley’s most recent experience centers around the development and formation of a stand-alone specialty and emergency center in Delaware.  Under Shirley’s leadership, this practice grew from nine employees when it opened to over 100 employees at the time of sale.   Shirley’s leadership focus was not only on offering quality, state of the art medicine but had a strong emphasis on employee morale and well-being.  Shirley was instrumental in making sure a strong emphasis was put on staff benefits, schedules, personal growth, and maintaining a healthy work balance as was put on financials, operations, marketing, customer service, and practice growth.

How Shirley has Helped Businesses Grow

• Consistently managed practice finances to achieve a 15-20% return on investment for the managing partners.
• Developed a compensation and bonus program for staff that eliminated yearly reviews, upgraded salaries, encouraged individual growth and kept the staff salary expense under 20% of gross revenue.
• Established a successful doctor internship program.  Many of our Intern Graduates went onto specialty residencies. 
• Established off-site staff retreats and a DVMA accredited continuing education program that showcased our specialists and brought general veterinarians together.  This increased our referral base by 25 percent.
